I messed up and made an ISO (8 gigs) of a DVD to my hard drive rather than copy the files to the hard drive. What can I do to extract the files so DVD shrink can cut them down to a single layer dvd - 4.7 gig?! THANKS!
Shrink can read ISO's. You can go File<Open Disc Image, or Ctrl+I and choose the Iso you created. Then Shrink will preform just as if you opened a folder with .vob's.....
A couple more questions if you don't mind? So do you know / have you seen any difference in quality if you use decrypter to move the files from the DVD to the hard drive as files or ISO? Do you bother with that step (Decrypter then use Shrink to get it onto a DVD?) or do you just use shrink exclusively? Sometimes I use just shrink, but I think (haven't checked for sure) that decrypter to the hard drive is faster / frees up the original DVD quicker than shrink analyzing it... then yeah, shrink still has to do the analysis, but it goes quicker? 3 steps vs. 2? Any of this seems much longer than DVD X copy that I used to use.. but shrink / decrypter gets away from the DVD X copy ad / notice and some DVDs that DVD X Copy couldn't decrypt? these other apps worked.
I use shrink to compress and burn with DVD, so shrink creates the iso file to burn w/decrypter, All the other iso image files have worked to burn but the one I was talking about comes up with error window on shrink "invalid UDF filesystem". So maybe just that file is corrupt.
