I really just want to be able to connect an S-video or composite video in/out-put device to my computer for use with my DVD burner, but a remote & a tuner would be neat. I've been looking at the ATI 8500, but there seem to be a few cards in the $60-180 range that will do what I want & more. Which ones are good/bad? Do I need the full retail package, or would a white box be enough for me? A card that's $130 retail is only $60 in white box, but it seems some accessories may be omitted - is the breakout box/cable still included?_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Steve83 Tbird 850Mhz & 256M DDR RAM HP DVD200i & Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM 7200 Maxtor 20G full & WD 80G empty Win2KPro, NSW/NAV, DXC 1.3.1 Panasonic DVD-CV51[/small]
i have the all in wonder 8500DV. the best dam all in wonder. comes with a lot of ports. firewire, s-video, composite, dv, etc... its worth the 150-160 dollars. Thats my recommendation. If you dont want that, then get any ATI card above the 7500. Any card less than that is worthless due to its age and a lot of new games and programs dont run well with them. Personally, i think they run a lot better than all of the nvidia cards.
