I recently signed up for Directv with one DVR unit(samsung with s-video hookup) and one regular receiver that has an s-video hookup....on either unit I will use the s-video cable.....what will give me better picture quality on an HDTV??...I don't have HD programming yet but my panasonic handles analog signals well...so I have read... I just got a 32" HDTV.....s-video on either unit on an hdtv is the same ??? or one might be better than the other....I don't care where I put my dvr...it can be in the bedroom on my analog tv or in the living room on my hdtv...what I want is to have the best image possible on my HDTV be it DVR unit or the other one...

    TIA

It is not possible to send HDTV signals to your display via S-Video. You must use either component (connected to an HDTV capable input, not all are), DVI. or HDMI.

    Hope this helps. Bob

in order of picture quality from least to best:
S-Video, Component, DVI, HDMI (100% digital audio and video).
