Very common for fta sat receivers to have an rf/antenna input which will pass throught rte's and tv3/tnaG to telly throught the receiver!

Best advice is take the cable out of the box put the box away for the moment and plug your cable direct into the tv you will then get roughly 20 channels on the cable FTA

You won't get Digital except for one or two channels on any box now and you have stated you don't want to do sat (actually you can't get them anyway on freesat) so you have no other option than analogue or official sub.

Oh sat will not receive Rte etc.

faolteam best advice is E45's, also get a 3 or 4 way splitter and run the incoming cable to all rooms you have a tv in.

That wouldn't work cacti as to receive DTT you would need a DVB-T (mpeg4) receiver for Ireland and Sat is DVB-S so if you run it through RF in you won't get anything.
