im one of those people who dont have the luxury of the boxes anymore in ireland but i wanted to get digital tv in my parents house they need it for 4 rooms, What would u recommend unfortunately the free air is no good a sit doesnt have tv3 or rte so any advice on who might be the best people to go with
Very common for fta sat receivers to have an rf/antenna input which will pass throught rte's and tv3/tnaG to telly throught the receiver!
is it not true in irl only rte 1 and a few others are fta and network2 and others are not,if you had a starview and switched emu off you could check then what is fta.
Best advice is take the cable out of the box put the box away for the moment and plug your cable direct into the tv you will then get roughly 20 channels on the cable FTA
You won't get Digital except for one or two channels on any box now and you have stated you don't want to do sat (actually you can't get them anyway on freesat) so you have no other option than analogue or official sub. Oh sat will not receive Rte etc.
how about a digital aerial to pick up rte 1,network 2,tv 3,tng and then pass through rf on sat receiver, would that work?

faolteam best advice is E45's, also get a 3 or 4 way splitter and run the incoming cable to all rooms you have a tv in.
That wouldn't work cacti as to receive DTT you would need a DVB-T (mpeg4) receiver for Ireland and Sat is DVB-S so if you run it through RF in you won't get anything.
