im pretty new to these ds things. and id rather not pay 30 for a game when i can get one of these. which is a better one? and is it easy to put a game onto here? I'm also reading about the sd cards. how many games can you put in a 1gb sd card?

They are essentially the same. The only difference that I hear everyone talk about is that the R4 gets its updates a couple days before the M3. They are easy to put games on, since the games don't need to be patched you just drag and drop from your PC to the micro sd. You can probably get 10 to 20 games on a 1GB micro sd card. The games vary in size so I couldn't quote you an exact number.

Important information about the M3DSS and R4: 100% identical.

As for the firmware updates, theres a program that can easily convert the .DAT to run on the opposite card.

The best MicroSD card I've used thus far is the Japan-made 2GB Kingston, Dealextreme has a good price on them.

unless your talking about the m3 real, the m3 simply and r4 are the same thing.

to get roms, you go to websites and download them. you can google it up.
some examples are like justroms.com and 1rom.net those are what i use, there are alot more that some people might like better though. when you download it, it comes in a zip file, so you have to unzip it first.

http://ds.rom-news.org seem to be a pretty good site, i use that one. it takes about a couple days before a new game gets up there. its easy to use and plus they distinguish the region for u at the end of the file name.
