I just reinstalled windows xp and there's this change in the registry I made so that those annoying translucent background images in the My Pictures, My Videos, and My Music folders in the bottom right corner wouldn't be displayed anymore. The problem is I don't remember what it was, so I googled it but didn't find anything (I guess my wording must be a little off). Does anyone know what I'm talking about and if so could you tell me what it is 'cause I would really like to remove them quick and easy with a simple registry tweak.
There are 2 ways to do this. 1- Right-click My Computer, and choose Properties Select the Advanced tab Under Performance section, click Settings button Uncheck Use a background image for each folder type Click Apply, and click OK 2- Go here in registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced Right click ListviewWatermark select modify and change the value data from 1 to 0
Thank you, they're all gone now. I'm making note of this for the next time I reinstall windows, putting it on the list with a few other tweaks I like. Thanks once again!
