whats the best method for applying subtitles?

    I downloaded a film with subtitles, its an SRT file, along with the video file (video clip), what dvd burning program allows you to put subtitle (SRT file) files on with the video?

    If you have divx player that supports subtitles then just burn them as data on dvd. (movie and subtitles have to use the same name)

    If you need to convert .avi and .srt to dvd-format, try using ConvertXtoDVD.
