title gives this one away. basically what is the best bit of software for putting mpeg, avi, etc files onto a playable dvd disc. ive only ever used cyberlink power producer but the burning process on it can take hours of making folders before it even asks for a blank dvd. any suggestions
I'd recommend checking out the threads linked in my sig for the authoring faq and related links to see what's available. Depending on what features you need on the DVD (ie movie only, simple menus, motion menus, multiple resolutions or aspect ratios) and your personal taste there may be different answers to your question. I personally prefer DVD-Lab Pro, but I recommend trying several programs to see what's right for your needs.
I like using intervideo win dvd creater. Easy to use, and it does not take 4 ever and a day unlike some other programs I have tried. It does still take time for the program to encode and process for a dvd player disc.
If you do not care for menus, try convert to dvd compliant format with VSO (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm Happy dvd burning!
i want one that can make nice graphicy menus and chapters. i might try out that intervideo dvd creator. if it even takes half the time power producer does ill be happy
