*Inhales* I mean, ****. Every time a new movie comes out, people analyze the hell out of it, and because it doesn't live up to their unrealistic standards, it automatically sucks. I understand that everyone's entitled to your own opinion, and that some movies are noticeably (from an objective point of view) worse than others, but sometimes, people are noticeably grasping at straws... whenever the term, "unrealistic" comes up, I die a little inside. If you want realistic, watch a mirror for two and a half hours. If you want to be entertained, accept that the events in a story happen, no matter how lucky it seems. Also, maybe I'm just a cretin, but how do you tell who a good actor is and who isn't? How are they supposed to act naturally during an event that isn't necessarily natural? It doesn't stop at movies, either. Video game consoles... "dis has gud graffix" "ya, but itz gamez suxors!" I understand (I have $200 dollars to my name right now, and don't have a job) that not everyone has $1000 to blow on entertainment at any given moment, and that, therefore, you're going to have to shop around and gather opinions to choose which console you want. You're going to end up with an opinion, and act on it. However, other people have opinions, too. Some people like being awed by gorgeous cutscenes, other people prefer the fun of a tight control system and decent physics. Unless someone is on the fence about this, you're not going to change their ****ing mind. And people are rarely on the fence about graphics vs. gameplay. And damn. All this negativity towards people on an interpersonal level in chatrooms, IRC, and forums... it's cowardice. Pure and simple, you wouldn't insult strangers on the street with the language used in these hellholes, so why tell it to someone across the country? Hiding behind a wall of anonymity and insulting other people isn't really a brave thing to do. I know it's a bit hypocritical to complain about Internet negativity in such a negative manner, but damn... the Internet needs some sort of aptitude test before you can use it, or something.
Nah, I say we need to get rid of idealists. You have to be realistic...the internet is not serious business and people getting butt-hurt online is silly.
hahahaha.. I call a c--- a c--- !! face to face or on the internet.. or on the phone. As is my wont. /me grows middle fingers on my feet
Amen brother! Let's take Mike Adam's for example, that guy took the internet way too seriously. And because of that, we now have a dead section of aD called the "DVD-VCR combos" + a bunch of edited posts. This also reminds me of that time that chick died from playing WoW for 2 weeks straight, not sure if that was the time frame or not, but she's dead either way. So her online friends held an "online funeral" for her, and a bunch of jokers thought it would be cool to break that up. Funniest thing I think I've ever seen. I'll look for the video, or if anyone has it, please post here. **update** Found the video on good 'ol youtube. Fixed those errors yet XEnigmaX?
Here's a little tid-bit of information that might save your life: Realism is a style of film making and not whether something looks real or not. The latter definition was thrown out as far as art is concerned with the invention of the camera (including its early ancestors) and motion picture devices. Why worry about realism, in the sense of whether something looks real or not, if the subject matter really is real. Pure realism, under the cinematographic definition, would be a documentary, and movies that are just purely for artistic reasons, with no plot, would be on the opposite side of the spectrum. Most movies today lie somewhere in between. So, if a director is attempting to make a movie with a style of realism that in the end is not realistic, the movie is going to get bad reviews by critics who are trained to notice that kind of thing. [EDIT: Clarification and grammar errors.] [EDIT2: I fixed them.] [EDIT3: The errors that is.]
