Well...I have looked thoroughly at my mobo, but I can't find the CMOS RAM and just wonder where it is located.

So where is that chip located on the motherboard anyway? I would really wanna know where it is...Everybody is talking about it in class but indeed nobody knows where it is on the mobo. So if possible, please tell me.

The actual CMOS chip isn't always it's own chip anymore. There was a time when this chip was socketed and easily removable...then it went to being soldered to the board, and now it is often a part of something else.

So it is still impossible to locate the chip?

If you see something that looks like a small chip, that slides into a squarish socket with pins all around the edge (usually this socket is some shade of brown), then you found it. Also, start the system...it should say something like AMI or whoever made the bios; this would be written right on the chip if it is it's own chip.
