Don't know if I'm posting this in the right area or not, but I'm looking for a good place online to purchase music. I just want to get others opinions before I go and sign up with any service that I may end up regretting later. Thanks for the help! ~Carl
Well, I'm not too high on purchasing music online. Most of it has DRM or other types of restrictions that are a pain in the ass in the long run. Right now, iTunes is the market leade, but it's mostly appealing for people with iPods since other portable players can't play AAC files. If I were you, I would consider joining a music club like YourMusic.com. They sell CD's for $6.00 shipping included.
Thanks Hermes. I checked out that site and signed up. Thats a really good deal! I didn't know that music clubs existed like that. Thanks for the info. Carl
Happy to be of help. One thing you should be aware of is shipping can take up to 2 weeks since they use the cheapest shipping method. At least to Puerto Rico they take that long. If you leave in the 48 states, it should take less time.
carlvo - I have used Your Music.com for a year now. I love it. The price is right @ $5.99 w/ free shipping. You get to pick out "your music" in advance and can listen to samplings off the CD to help make your decision. You can pick in advance your monthly shipment three, four , six months ahead with their que. As for online music downloads, I like Yahoo Music Engine for the best prices $.79 a track plus full album discounts at times. Music is delivered in WMA format and is DRM protected, but your license allows you to burn and transfer to MP3 players supporting WMA. My choice for best sounding online music I have discovered (so far) is Rhaspody which seems to deliver well on that account. Good luck in your music pursuit, BluesJack
@Bluesjack, Thanks for the info. Will give those sites a try. And I'm going to stick with YourMusic.com. $6 a CD ain't bad at all! Carl
