I will be purchasing a DVD Recorder soon. I was thinking about the Panasonic DMR ES20S or DMR ES40VS, but I had read some bad reviews about Panasonic models.

I am trying to figure which is the best ones out there. I want something somewhere in the $200-$350 range. Any feedback is greated appreciated. Thanks

It all depends on what you mean by "best". If you mean best picture quality, I think JVC is ahead of the pack. Toshiba is a close second. Panasonic recorders show lots of artifacts on anything over 2 hours. The technical gurus over at videohelp.com say JVC is the way to go. I own 2 DVD recorders and 2 capture cards, and I can honestly say the JVC recorder is superior (probably due to its aggressive noise filtering).

    Hi,

Thanks, I mean the one with best picture quality, and the least amount of problems.
