i think both are very similar, gbatemp.net gave both a gold award rating, but in term of cost, acekard 2 is slightly cheaper. read both reviews there and u can decide.

I have read reviews and I still dont see the big difference. It seems the Acekard 2 works all roms. But I still am unsure if CycloDS does too. Thanks

i got the acekard 2 from a uk store www.ds-one.co.uk the manufacturer release updates often and have a very helpful forum, many 'skins' ready for download. i never used cyclods so cant comments. but cyclods does cost a bit more. do a google comparision and u will see.

Thanks for your help. I am going to order an Acekard2. I was wondering if there were any games it would not work?

acekard's manufacturer claims its 100% compatibility. theres always new game release that may have issues but they release firmware updates often to fix any bugs.

i create each folders for mp3, games, photos. when u launch moonshell, u can select any folders u like. i only uses it mp3, photos and games.
From wiki info : the player supports DPG video files, MP3 / OGG / MOD / SPC / MDX(no PCM)/ GBS / HES / NSF / XM / MIDI / low bit rate AAC audio / non-progressive JPEG / BMP / GIF / PNG images, and text files

For future reference comparing the CycloDS Evolution with the Acekard2 is not really a fair comparison. Both are really good flash carts but CycloDS is a bit more expensive and includes a few added features not in Acekard (In-game menu with real time save, and an upcoming feature to read a .txt file in game so you could read the FAQ while still having the game open)

The way I see it the market for DS flash carts are flooded and really the only bad ones are the N-5 and R4 clones (which are basically the N-5 with an R4 sticker). Other then those no matter what you buy you will probably be satisfied with the result.

I know it’s been a wile but been working away I downloaded moonshell and when I tried it didn’t seem to work I think I put it in the wrong place on the card left it at that because like I said had work commitments now the daughter is asking me how you play music so before I try again MaryD7 or any one else give me an idiots guild where you install moonshell on the card and also where do you place the music and pictures etc when I unzipped moonshell if I remember correctly there was two files 1/ the app and 2/ a dll file I think do you put both files on the card like I said need an idiots guild Ds isn’t one of my strong points cheers :)

    hi killalot
you will need to d/l this MoonShell version, once you unzip it, you will get a folder 'moonshl' and a file 'MoonShell_AUTOPATCH_Default(No interface).nds' copy both files onto you MicroSD card, root directory. you can create folders for mp3 or pics, thats it, job done.
To use Moonshell, your Acekard probably shows 'games' when booted up. so you need to press B button to go back untill you see 'MoonShell_AUTOPATCH_Default(No interface).nds' select it and press A to launch Moonshell. once launched, just browse to your mp3 or pics.
