    Hi
I want to buy one of these consoles. I have never played any of these games or used any of these machines. Please advise what game would be better for a beginner like me

    Thanks

    wassup...

hmm.. this could be a start of a heavy debate! but oh well. here's some food for thought.

    PROS:

xbox- has a harddrive built-in (8GB size), fast cpu, great graphics (nvidia made a custom video card/system for the xbox, enough said). xbox live (broadband)

ps2- lots and lots of games, RPG games kick ass on this one (Final Fantasy X and the new final fantasy X2), built in DVD Movie playback without a kick, plays PSone games, plays dvd+r and dvd-r backup movies

    CONS:

XBOX- dvd movie playback requires the kit (unless you mod your xbox, more below), initially not many games but more and more games lately

PS2- no harddrive, not as fast processor

    MODDING:
if your into modding, go with the xbox. you can do a harddrive replacement, add programs to the xbox to play dvds with the kit, play almost every media type with xbox media player (divx, mpg, mp3s, wma, wav)

thats about all i can think of now.
hopefully more people will post their opinions..

    peace

i have an xbox and a gamecube but not a PS2. however a lot of my friends have one so I play all 3 systems quite a bit. I have to say I loke the xbox best though- for one reason- a little game by the name of Halo. there is no PS2 or GC game that can come close. period.
