Right now, I'm the proud owner of a Plextor PX-716a (which won't recognize RITEKF1 media, even with updated firmware), an LG GSA-H42L (currently installed), and a LiteOn LH-16W1P that I couldn't pass up today. I walked past a clearance shelf at a Wal-Mart and they had an unopened one stickered at $16! I'm hesitant to put my PX-716a back in because of the lame RITEKF1 problem- even though I know it's a top-notch drive. I don't buy media with that code, but sometimes friends need backups made and bring me that crap...So I guess the question is really: Is an LH-16W1P better than a GSA-H42L for someone that doesn't use Lightscribe? Other info: The system runs 2.3GHz and 512 MB, so it ought to easily handle any drive out there.
If I were you, I'd installed two drives (provided you have space) - the Plextor as master and the LiteOn as slave.
