Ok. My Plextor PX-740A (Reflashed to BenQ 1640) has finally given up on me today. Thing just stopped responding while burning and upon reboot cannot be recognized at all on all my PCs. I was thinking about buying another BenQ (16420/1640/1650) but I found the original box and the receipt and found out that Best Buy will replace my dfective drive with a new one. Too bad these guys don't carry BenQs but here is a list of drives that they have to offer:

    Comstar DVR-S111B
    HP DVD940e
    HP DVD940i
    LG GSA H22LI
    LG GSA E10L
    Lite-On EZ Dub SOHW-1673SU
    Pioneer DVR-710B5PK
    Samsung SH-S182M/BSBN
    Samsung SH-S183L/B
    Samsung SE-W184M/AMBN
    Sony DRU-830A
    Sony DRX-830W

Don't know much about these drives or whether they are rebadged as something else. Also, for some reason they stopped carrying Plextors =( Any suggestions would be appreciated. Want to get things up and running by Saturday when the new releases come out. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion lite-on and pioneer are the way to go. I have 3 pioneer drives and they have not failed me yet. :)
