I have been trying to burn all of my songs to one disc by converting them to data files... So far so good, however, I am only able to play them in anything but my computer. What in particular am I to look for when purchasing a portable cd player and does anyone have any suggestions on which brand and model? Also wanted to know if there is any other way of putting more than 20 songs on one disc and having it work in a "normal" cd player. Thanks

Did you mean to say that you can only play it on your computer and not on a portable cd player? If you can only play on your computer, then your CD probably contains MP3 files and not wave files. You will need to go buy a portable CD player that supports MP3.

A CD can hold more than 20 songs, but that would mean that either the songs are 2-3 mins long. If they range from 4-5 mins and you want to squeeze 20 songs, that would mean that you are burning to the edge. Burning to the edge of the CD is not a practice for me. It is usually very vulnerable to scratches.

Let me know if this helps you.

depending on your definition of a normal cd player, you could get up to five hours of songs on one mp3 disc. but you have to have a player that can play mp3's.

i personally like the rca brand of cd players, ive always bought those.
