Hi in the guide "Copy your DVD to XviD with AC3 surround sound" here in AfterDawn guides, does anyone know which version of virtualdub that is?? On xvid configuration it has six tabs global,quantization,two-pass,alt.curve,credits,debug. This is really irritating because one can't follow the guide properly as the functions or layout of the newer virtualdub is different.
Use this guide instead, leaves you excellent quality xvid movies with ac3 sound adn you dont need virtualdub. http://rita.lt/guides/AutoGK_DVDtoAVI.htm enjoy!
The version of VDub doesn't effect the XviD config. alt.curve? Sounds like the guide is using a very old version of XviD. The rest of the guide is also probably way old and out of date.
Thanx guys! This sure helps. And I now see what youre saying about the version not effecting the codec settings...oops I think I downloaded and tried every version. And thanks for the link DVDBack23 it will take me awhile to figure it out though(gordion knots sheeeesh) But until then I think I have this one figured out even though the guide is pretty old. Almost 2 gigs down to 350 megs in xvid and pretty damn good quality and audio. Awesome
