HD players have been out for awhile and the HD-DVD's have been out for about a month. Just wanted to hear a review on it if anyone owns it or has seen it yet.

I have the Toshiba HD-A1 and the picture is jaw-dropping on my Samsung HLR6178W. I compared the HD-DVD version of "Serenity" and the regular DVD version of the same film played in the Toshiba. The regular DVD is upconverted to 1080i by the HD-DVD player. The connection is by HDMI. The HD-DVD version wins hands down. I'm planning on getting the Sony VPL-VW100 1080p projector for my basement home theater. We'll see how the HD-A1 performs on this. Just remember that the Toshiba outputs 1080i (and not 1080p) but the picture from an HD-DVD disc is still awesome.
Also remmember that a 1080p presentation can be derived from a 1080i signal if the 1080p HDTV or 1080p projector has good video proccessing and the source is 1080p (like HD-DVD movies). see this thread for more info... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/344032 Ced
