My USB connections are extremely slow. They use to be fast but now when I hook up my external HD it takes all day to transfer large files. My HD uses 2.0 USB connection. My computer used to be quick but I had problems with it so I used my Norton ghost copy to recover my computer to where it was when I had it first built. Ever since then my USB connection is very slow no matter what I hook up. My
i- Pod takes forever also when transfering songs. It takes about 4 seconds per song when it use to take 4 seconds for like 20 songs.

Any help would be great...this is really frustrating. thanks

I right clicked on USB Controllers and I clicked reinstall. I think it successfully reinstalled. It did have a exclamation mark next to it but now it doesnt and it shows a list of all my USB's.

Before it only had shown one USB now it has a list. My USB is also moving A LOT quicker.

There is also 2 more things with yellow exclamation marks next to it...maybe you can assist me:

    PCI Modem and IDE Channel

I uninstalled my IDE Channel and it was suppose to reinstall itself according to people on here but it never did...this is what it says when I try to reinstall the driver or everytime I start my computer this pops up:

[bold]There was a problem installing this hardware:

    IDE Channel

An error occured during the installation of the device

Driver is not intended for this platform.[/bold]

Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this, but I have a ASUS P4P800 SE motherboard...I'm almost positive that it is a intel.

I think it is my secondary IDE channel that has a yellow mark next to it. My primary one use to have a mark next to it but some how it found a way to fix itself. I'm not exactly sure what IDE port is for what drive. How can I find this out? I have 2 drives and they both work, but one sometimes doesnt. They both back movies up to my HD, but only one of my drives can burn without any errors.

shutdown the computer, disconnect the power cable so can open the left hand side of the case when looking at the front of the case. look for the wide cables that go from the motherboard to the drives, disconnect & reconnect the cables on the motherboard & drives. do same for the power connectors to the drives.

Alright I disconnected and reconnected the cables as directed. My IDE channels don't have the yellow mark next to it anymore. But my PCI Modem does. When I try to install it...it says that it was unable to install because the software isnt available. I'm not even sure what a PCI Modem is.

Anyways...My main concern is getting my drives to work 100%. Now that I did as I was told about the cables, is my FirmWare up to date still? Or do I have to update it again?

I have 2 drives...Lite- ON SOHW-1633S and 1673S. My 1633 failed when I tried to do a burn again. Hopefully you can read the Nero history below and come up with a solution. Really do appreciate this.
