    Hi,

I have some files in avi format that I want to watch on my DVD player. Im using WinAVI for the first time and it seems pretty good. The only problem is that I select to convert avi to SVCD but for some reason it converts it to MPG which is useless. The file is about 340meg and I check the Advanced settings and it all seems ok. I have tried several times and this has happened each time.
Does this have to do with codec, I have d/loaded so much codec from everywhere.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.

Drop the mpg file on AviCodec program. It's a freeware you can get on this site. It will tell you if it's mpeg1(vcd) or mpeg2(svcd). If it's
mpeg2 then you just create an svcd with a burning program, like Nero, and burn it.

If you can't figure it out post the info AviCodec shows here.
