    very common xbox problem
    depends on a few factors
what make dvd drive you have, (there are 3 main xbox brands of drive, thomson , philips, samsung, samsung reads the best)
what media brand disc youre using, by what people say, memorex have best success
what speed your recording the disc at (go as low as possible)
what program youre using to burn, I think stomp record now is the best.
IF you get no success with other brands, try to get it on dvdrw or dvd-r etc
otherwise, do what I did, change your xbox dvd drive to a samsung, (also you can use a pc modded samsung 616 drive)
the xbox samsung drive is sdg-605, can be found on ebay (around $80-$110)

i tried cd/rw, dvd/r, dvd/rw and they all failed. i was told that cd/r doesn't work, so i tried a cheap brand or cd/r and it worked first time. i downloaded slayers evox auto-installer v2.5 burned onto the cd/r with nero.

the xbox samsung drive wont read dvd+r media, but I have read that philips and thomson can (although they are tempremental with cdr media)
I use dvd-r and dvd+rw with my samsung drive, they work fine.
