    I have a sony dvd rw dru-710a and a pioneer dvd-rw dvr-108.

They both work great while burning 8x media..and they are suppose to burn up to 16x media. I use taiyo yuden and ritek blank media to burn.

When i put 2 16x media in to burn..both burners reduce the speed to 4x...it wont even let me burn at 8x speed. I appreciate any help in this matter..thx...or if i put 1 16x media in to burn...it will only burn at 4x

You are very welcome, I just happened to be passing by.

Like I said though, double check your Pioneer information.

Then the Pioneer should be at the end of your IDE cable and your Sony should be connected intermediately.

Try diferent brands of quality media. Burn at 1/2 the rated speed of the blank disk for best results.
