I used "ImTOO DVD Subtitle Ripper" to rip the subtitle from a DVD disc . I got 2 files .idx and .sub . I loaded thm up together with the coresponding video ripped before . Everything worked just fine : I could watch the subtitles on the PC in correct time . However, when I tried to convert these 2 files to .srt , none of the 10 subtitle editing & conversion programs I had could even read them !! ( mostly freewares such as Subtitle Workshop v4.0 Beta 3 & v2.51, SubC - Subtitle Converter v1.2.0.91, Subtitle Edit v1.8, SubCreator 1.2.0.117, DivXLand Media Subtitler v2.05 etc... ) Please explain & help .... Thanks,
For .idx and .sub formats you can try converting them using SubResync. It's a small component of VobSub. http://forum.videohelp.com/topic219201.html
LOL, that's what i thought first time I used it, but it isn't! It has lots of options you're not gonna use, that's why it looks complicated. Here's a guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/rip_subtitles_with_subrip.cfm
