i burned like two movies with Nero. First , i encoded the movie into mpeg-1 and then i burned it. When I burn it to a cd-rw, it plays fine on my dvd player. But wen i burn the movie into a cd-r, my dvd player says please insert a playable disk. I tried it again and my dvd player recognized it as a cd and not a vcd; the time started to move but i couldn't see or hear anything. can anybody please help!?!?

Sounds like you have a picky DVD player. Not all DVD players are built the same. For Instance I have a GE Player an it will only accept 2 that I know of CD-R Brands..

Also Try looking up your Dvd player on this Very Informative web site. Look for your player, you also can get very good feedback from other owners of the same type of dvd player
