I got a IBM thinkpad, it's a few years old now, but I'm going to upgrade it a bit rather than spend alot of money on a new right now. I'm just in the need to know about getting wireless internet on it. Mainly if I want to hit some of the "Hot Spots".

Is it only the "Centrino" laptops that will pickup wireless interenet? Or can I just get a wireless card and have it do the same thing?

    Thanks

Wireless card is the way to go and very inexpensive today. There are deals for under $10 after rebates... Belkin, Linksys, etc. Just look for these deals on the weekends usually.
