Will a laptop hardrive fit a desktop harddrive???

    Not sure if im in the right section.
    Apologises if i'm not.


    Is there any possible way to get a 80gb dell hardrive to fit a desktop computer. Connections (ribbons)obviously are a different size.Can i get ones to fit or is there another possible way to attatch it???
    Also the dvd drive from the laptop, can i get this to fit the desktop where the cd drive is?/
    Any help would be apprciated it.

    Not sure but look for a 3.5 to 5.25 converter

    Whats the converter all about.
    Not really up on all this..

    That just lets your small hdd fit where a big hdd would go. not sure about the different ribbon sizes though. you think you can post a picture or a reference?
