I know about the frame rates and resoultion stuff, so I guess my questions are:
Can I play a ripped NTSC DVD-R on a PAL system? and if so will I loose quality?

Also if there is a loss of quality, is it worth it to re-encode into a PAL stream. Thanks (a newbie)

That's a question I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to as I thought when you rip a DVD you remove any encoding and region settings. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that would allow you to play a ripped NTSC on a PAL player.
