I am having a problem with my dvd drive. I can burn cds but when I try and burn a dvd it will go through the process and say that it has burned the movie, but when I put it in the dvd player, there is nothing there. I have tried many diffrent programs, Nero, dvd shrink, dvdcopy, ulead, tried to make an iso and the data is there but nothing is on the dvd. The dvd drive isnt really old but I have burned a ton of movies with it (like maybe 300). Any ideas?
I have burned a lot of DVDs also.... over 2000 with my DVD and it's still going strong...... but that doesn't mean that your DVD burner is NOT going bad..... sometimes a burner can go bad updating your firmware incorrectly or a bad power serge...... who knows why a burner goes bad.... but only able to burn CDs are an indication that your laser is failing with the DVD burning. what make and model do you have?
