I haven't been on live in a LONG time and forget most of the rules and stuff. I have a 120GB HDD that I upgraded the softmod way. I was wondering if I could still use that and not get banned from live?

    -Thanks

Err... I kind of doubt that you could get banned for having a larger HDD, it was probably something ON your HDD that got you banned. I do not think your Xbox scans for how much space you have on your HDD when connecting to Xbox Live.

It scans your EEPROM and you EEPROM has to match with your HDD but I thought since I did the softmodd way you had to make your EEPROMS match to lock your HDD....So wouldn't I be able too or maybe I'm just not getting something.

janrocks posted that they also check the hard drives serial number and designate it to your EEPROM. So if you go online with a different hard drive using that EEPROM, you'll get banned.

Haven't tried it myself, so can't really confirm it myself. I always thought it was just the EEPROM that got checked.

i personally wouldnt risk it you can make switches for hard drives use on for games and stuff and the other for online
