I have 2 xbox. I have helpd 3 friends mod their also. They allhave the same bios and everything. Example: The game -FROGGER BEYOND- My first xbox will play the backup. My friends will also. My second xbox will let me pick a name and pick story mode, but when it starts to go in the game all I get is a black screen. More backup games do the same. Nightfire shows me the EA emblem first and freezes on it. Serveral backup games won't play on my second, but will on the other 4. I flashed it last night with the E2 build 4977 bios, still the sme thing. OUt of all of you smart xboxers, I know someone has an answer for me. Thanks, Strings41
What program are you using to make the iso with? xISO sucks don't use that one.. try to get GDFImage or ISomaker to make the iso.. do you have the In Game resets shut off on all the xboxs? just a few things to try let me know what happens
I will try that. But what about this. My friends bring their boxes over and my games will work on them and on my first one. I think the game is fine. My In game reset was "yes" and so is everybody elses. I just tried Putting no on mine and it is still not playing. It is not the IGR or the ISO. What else could it be. Could it be Evolution X didn't install correctly.
Do you all have different DVD drives because remember the Thomson and Philips are not as reliable as the Samsung. Also is the game on CD or DVD?
ModMaster has a point. Since you modded the xboxes yourself and are familiar with the "guts" of the system, you can either: a) open them up and verify the hardware since (as stated by ModMaster) "the Thomson and Phillips are not as reliable as the Samsung." OR b) swap DVD drives from the two xboxes and see what happens.
We all have Thompson. One of my friends had a Samsung, but we swapped drives with someone who didn't want to MOD his. Anything Else? I am at the end of my rope with it. Your help is appreciated.
Thomsons are the worst drives out of the 3. They won't read CDR and are fussy with everything else. Even between different Thomson drives you can get varying performance which is what seems is happening. The fact that even 1 game actually boots to some extent shows that the modchip is functioning. I really think 1 or 2 of the drives are probably being really picky. What discs are you using CD's DVD's ? And what brand ? What speed are you burning at? What burner do you have and if you have DVD's then are they +R or -R? The safest bet is probably something like a Datawrite or Verb DVD-R burnt at no more than 2X. If that doesn't work then the drive is probably just really poor.
I use memorex dvd+r for all my media and i use GDFImage to make the iso's and never really encountered any probs with my thomson drive.. once again maybe i got lucky
