Hello, I have a Lite-on SOHW-1633S DVD RW DL drive, less than a year old. It was working fine but now I can only rip (can't burn). I've tried DVD Decyrpter, Nero, and DVDClone2. After I rip I put in the blank media (genuine TY) it starts to write the lead-in and never moves on. At that point I can't close the program or do anything else with the computer, the whole thing freezes except for the mouse. I tried to look at the last report by Nero, only there wasn't one from when it messed up. I downloaded a firmware upgrade from lite-on and it did nothing. I'm starting to think it may be the laser. Any ideas would be great. Thanks in advance.
Could be software causing it.... You might have somthing running in the background? Can you try it in another PC?
Thanks for your response. I have alreafy contacted Lite-on support and have sent away the drive. Since I don't like to wait, I bought a Benq 1640 before I sent the Lite-on away. The 1640 seems to be doing great, guess the drive just gave out. Thanks agian.
