I'm using a emprex 8x DVD-/+R burner that connects through a USB port. I haven't burned anything yet. When Using DVD Decrypter, it freezes when im choosing which file to write. Same with ImgBurn. But will the burner effect the quality?

Hrmmm...Don't know if an external burner will affect quality, but the Brand of you're burner might...I think you're better off picking up a better burner such as BenQ, Plextor, NEC, Lite-On, and LG. These burners have been tried and tested by alot of members here and can give you better support in the future. Trust me, I've seen the Emprex stock at Fry's and I keep passing 'em by. I guess why they still got alot of 'em in stock, cuz alot of people do the same. Didn't mean to put you down there =) As long as you keep using good quality media on that drive (should you decide to keep it), you should have many days of happy burning ahead of ya! ;)
