Hi everyone, I have been lurking here without posting for sometime as im sure many do as its the best resource for real information and most of the time your questions have been answered previously which leads me to this next one...

I do understand the perils of the `one-click' convertors etc and I dont actually use winAVI on a regular basis but this one did have me stumped. I have 3 xvid avi's ... mpeg4,640x352,mp3 audio@120kbit,25fps and all are roughly 50-60 mins long. I convert them to DVD (vob) in both split 1g files or one massive vob and then author with dvd-lab. It imports into the assets bin without any errors, I then compile and burn.. the dvds seem fine when played, actually better than I expected from winavi but when you fast track through or seek throguh the movie its very erratic and finally ALL 3 movies stop, freeze and basically put the dvd player (tried it on 3 different ones) into a tailspin. Ive re-encoded and burnt 3 times and same results.

any ideas? I am fairly new to all this so I am assuming i missing something pretty simple.

    thanks guys!

WinAVI's mpeg output is probably messed.
Try joining the three in virtualdub first.
Make sure audio is all the same bitrate and format.
Make sure the vieo is all the same aspect and framerate (unless pulldown is applied).

    hi braggy,
As to your problem, I think you'd better contact at support@winavi.com. So they can look into this issue and solve it properly!
Actually, I have used WinAVI for about a year, and never experienced any problem!
