I have recently purchased a WinAvi software and would like to hear your opinions about it. Why, because I am not totally happy about it and want to find out if I am doing something wrong or the software typically not worth 29$, price I've paid for it. I am capturing video through a firewira port using Nero or Pinnacle Studio 8.8 to DV type. After some editing and storing as AVI file I am trying to convert it from AVI to DVD using WinAvi, yesterday it just hangs at 36%, after I restarted a session it hang again on 25%. AVI size is about 11 gigs. Any suggestions or recomendations are welcome and be greately appreciated. Thank you.
Why dont you just burn it to DVD using pinnacle as opposed to a AVI. If that does not work for you for some reason, try using Avi2Dvd http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avi2dvd.cfm
I have Winavi 7.1. In general, it has less tolerance for errors than some of the other programs (e.g. VSO). I use it mainly for working with rm or rmvb.
