window media player vista wont open

    i have windows vista ultimate for some reason i cant play videos in media player it all work before but now nothing happens its all updated but i dont no if it needs more video code i have ff show installed. need some help . cheers

    does it open any videos at all, if you use a different video player do those videos work?

    window media wont open at all not even for music all the others work fine vlc player nero itunes all work . cant do a system restore because it only goes back one day .cheers

    you could try booting up with the Vista CD and doing a repair. You could also try reinstalling windows media player.

    Yup. I got thee same problem on my laptop. I'm not sure how it happens/why, but there is no solution as of yet. You can't rollback, because it's WMP is integrated into Vista, and you get an error message when trying to do so. You can't upgrade due to the fact there's no better one out.
