Windows 8 wont start

    I am using windows 8 on a fujitsu lifebook a series laptop. When I try to start it I get a blank screen with the lights on the front panel lighting. I have also tried to enter the bios by pressing the F2 key after turning on the laptop, I can hear the beep but still nothing happening.

    When I say I get a blank screen there is a bit of illumination. Can anyone tell me if I have a hard drive failure or do I have a hardware problem

    moved to correct forum as not a windows issue. if nothing at all displays on the screen then it is a hardware issue. does the hard drive light flash as tho it is loading windows?

    If the HD light is flashing like it's loading, the screen may have gone south.. If the HD is loading, do you have another monitor you can plug in and check it?

    Yes ddp it flashes for about 15 to 20 seconds
    No 2oldgeek I dont have another monitor

    Detach monitor & connect computer to tv instead if still nothing assuming you can connect to tv,then remove graphics card & use onboard graphic to connect to tv or the monitor

    scorp, can't detach monitor if he doesn't have 1 as he is using a laptop. you might want to reread his 1st post again.
