Hello Is there anyone out there that can help me with my 98SE. I can't turn off my PC when i have a wireless network USB adapter (Jensen AL6511) plugged in. It says "Windows shutting down" and thats it. It stop there. Thanks Trond
do you manually shut it down than & when you restart windows does it do a scandisk or just go into windows. check the microsoft site for a file/program called win98se shutdown or something like that. is about 505kb in size. if can't find it pm me.
I have too force it with the on/off button. When I start it up again it goes too scan disc for problems.
check the manufacturer for updated driver & faq. what are the system requirements & what is your computer specs
I do believe this is a common problem with 98SE. My mates PC would not bootup or close down if the modem/adapter was connected. I tried lots of things for days to try and solve it, but to no avail. The only thing I could do is power on without it and shut down after removing it. I do think it is a windows issue rather than hardware, however that was some time ago, so as ddp suggested maybe there is a patch/firmware/driver update that may cure the problem. If you find one let us know, cos I would be interested if there is one outhere aswell..................ready to be taught.....LOL
