windows 98 second edition

why is it that i cannot put 98 second edition onto a 250 ata gb hard drive ? box says windows 2000 and up . and also i want to copy everthing from a 20 gb hard drive to a 250 hard drive .is there software out there to do this easy. i want to have the 20 with everything still on it for a backup in case the 250 dies .i have done this method already with 2 maxtor hard drives with maxblast . i made 2nd hard drive a new boot device and when done unhooked first one in case i messed up 2nd one i could always have first as a backup . but when working with 2 different brand hard drives i dont think maxblast will work .

 

i think this is a question better suited to the software threads but i can have a bash if you like.

i think its down to the file systems, pre 2k it was fat and post it is ntfs.

i think, like i said try in the windows thread for a definitive response.
