I had to reinstall Win 98SE. When I uninstalled a program a couple weeks ago I lost some files and they were on the Win Cd. So, I did a reinstall overtop and I thought all was well. Windows update popped up saying I had updates to get but when I got the the update page...nothing happened. Over and over and over. The page just sits there. Any suggestions? THanks
I have IE 6 with SP1. When I reinstalled it did not change anything except replace the files I was missing...so I assume. But, I will try that. I will go to microsoft site and download IE 6 again.
Thanks glitched... I have done that, and checked for viurses, I've tried everything that I can think of...I am to the point where I am thinking of backing up and re-formatting my hd, although I really really DON'T want to have to do that.

I am trying it, but it keeps asking me to install an active x control. I don't have the IE information bar they are talking about here I think this might be for XP or something newer than my 98? I can't even find a place on microsoft to download actixe x...I see direct x? Install the ActiveX control required to view the website The website will not display correctly on your computer without this control. To install it: 1. Right-click the Internet Explorer Information Bar. It's located just below the address bar. 2. In the right-click menu, click Install ActiveX Control. 3. In the Security Warning dialog box, click Install. Example: Internet Explorer Information Bar with right-click menu
