Hi, I am having some crazy problems with my version of Windows and apparently they no longer provide free support for my copy. I have Windows XP, and it is very strange the problem I am having. Basically, when I use the switch user function to remain on the log on/log off screen, with the little pictures and accounts the passwords all seem to change and ever accounts with no password seem to have one! I keep getting the wrror message that "Did you forget your password?" and it seems to happen for every account. Since others like to use the computer while I am still logged in (because I am downloading) it causes a lot of problems. If anybody knows of any fixes for this, it would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
Reloading the OS doesn't work? Hmm... Try backing up all your data, then doing a destructive recovery (the one the formats your hard drive).
It would appear to me that you have spyware/malware on your system for the symptoms you are describing. Countary to your initial assertation, MS does provide support for Windows XP (if you have a legit copy). Reformat is a drastic but effective way of cleansing your system of problems and does not need to be done on a repeating basis if you have appropriate virus/spyware tool installed. Some suggested programs to prevent the types of problems you are experiencing would include: AVG - antivirus Adaware - spyware Syybot - spyware Windows Defender - spyware CCleaner - registry cleaner All are free and should be run and updated on a regular basis. It's your choice - run a lean, clean machine or live with crap.
No MS does not provide support anymore for my copy. They want money now, I have had it for a year or two and want money now. Also, I have no spyware or malware on my hardrive.
