i have searched but have not found a solution to this problem. my internal western digital hard drive it giving me the delayed write failed message. now i have ran check disk through the properties page on the drive. i heard someone mention that i should reformat the drive the only problem is that i have several files stored on this drive, it does not contain windows, seperate drive for storage. are there any programs that might diagnose this problem? does anyone have any suggestions, besides buying a new drive?

    thanks

I do believe that the post, or whatever, that you read meant to format the drive that contains the OS.

i found some software disk repair that is suppose to fix bad sectors on a hard drive but doing so would erase all the data on the drive. is this my only option??
