    Hello

there is so much information on this message windows delayed write failed[b/]

but cannot seem to find a solution to mine, which seems simple enough,
but i have tryed all the obvious ones.

I installed a memory card reader, well you just plug this one in anyway, put my xd card in and you guessed it, nothing is writeing to the card , and then this message appears, delayed write failure the picture card is new, but the memory card reader is about two years old.

Now it doe;s say up to (512mb) but due to continuous development of memory card capacity, it can be possible that cards with a higher capacity than mentioned are surpported.

My card is a xd 1gb if this is to high in memory for the card reader would this give me the windows delayed write failure. message

Any advice on this, to somebody thats had the same problem, or knows what is causeing this.

    thanks for any replys.

    windows xp pro

Delayed write failure suggests a faulty component, not one that is unsupported. Either the reader or the card is faulty, I would guess.

    yep ok

just tryed the card in the camera again formatted it and took some dummy pics copied the to the pc , edited one then put it back on the camera, that works fine.

but just tryed a smaller sd card (128mb) in the card reader and that writes to the card fine.

So i am still puzzeled, i will have to try a different card reader, one that i know will surpport 1gb

    thanks anyway
