windows media center issues

I got my girlfriend a Toshiba satellite A105-S4274 laptop for Christmas and just got her a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB 2 for the laptop.Now after reading all the forms I think the problem is the sonic encoder that was OEM installed or not installed. Toshiba has been no help at all.I cant burn a video dvdfrom the WMC application., but can burn a data one in WMC. Also I get a message about the media not supported by DLA, I can burn with it using the same media in other programs ie Clone DVD. any ideas?Ive been reading and working on this for the last 12 hours Thanks in advance for help on these issues.
