Windows Media Player: Does not play DVDs?

I cannot get WMP to open and play DVD movies. I use Intervideo DVD software most of the time. But I want to use WMP for a couple of things and it will not play the dvd. I opened the disc and tried to force WMP to play it, but it does not like any of the TS files that are located in the Video folder. On the other hand Intervideo will open and play using any of the forementioned methods.

What gives?
