so i try to play a video and this pops up.... Windows Media Player cannot play the file. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player. any ideas?

What kind of file is it? The three letter .ext on the name of the file.

Is the file type one of those that WMP is capable of playing? Check the Media Files (all types) pull down tab to see.

What other programs are running while you try to play this one? Possible conflict(?)

Need more communication about the nature of the problem that it is not communicating to you. LOL
