Does anyone know how to rip the music track off a music video that plays on windows media player? I just want the song from a video to play in my mp3 player. I need to go from windows media player video to MP3?

    Let me know thanks.

you can use VirtualDub. Open the file with it, then click file>save WAV and it will extract the audio from the video file into uncompressed WAV format. Then use a converter such as dBPowerAMP to convert the uncompressed file to mp3. Both apps are free.

dBPowerAMP itself is free, but the mp3 encoder it comes with is a limited version, so you need to be sure to download the LAME mp3 plugin (I beleive its available under the plugin page of dBPowerAMP's website) so that you can have unrestricted mp3 encoding

Will WinAmp do it, if I configured its output correctly? I am having trouble for some reason downloading dbpoweramp for some reason.. I was trying to get it from C/net. No such luck as of yet.
