im wanting to make a backup copy of my windows office cd, and im trying to use nero. I went to the copy cd and ran the test to see if it would actually burn the cd, well the test went ok but my only concern is that in the window it said it was a copy writted cd. i knew it was before i even started, but im wanting to know if this will stop nero from making a WORKING COPY of the disk
be carefull if the cd is office xp 2003 you are in trouble if you try to install it from a backup there is a security fileon the office xp 2003 cd that automaticly connects to microsofts office update server and checks to see if the cd is legal so make sure you disconnect your internet before using it
u could use a firewall to block any comunications back and forth if your worried about running copied software. sygate has a nicely detailed free firewall thats a pretty snappy rig for limiting comunications . just a idea its probably not wise to use copied software as there may legalities with it . good luck though.
i would type - download sygate firewall - in a google search and dload the free personal firewall. windows firewall is lagging in technology . so ive heard . this is a pretty nice firewall . anytime one of your progs tries to comunicate with the internet a window will apear asking you for permision to connect . it also ask for permision on all incoming conections to. in my opinion it is one of the best out there . if you like what it does the pro version which has a few more options is very resonably priced and there support is great also . they usaully respond in 24hrs or less which is very good in my book . but there is alot of firewall progs out there . somebody maybe no's of a betterone but i think its a nice package give it a try
