I've had some experience where I didn't need a key while using the reinstallation disk of windows xp, provided through dell. I was wondering if the same is for all newer disk as i have acquired a Vista reinstallation disk. Any help is appreciated.
venders like dell put the key in the install disc and the disc will only work on their computers. so if the vista install disc is for a dell then you need a dell to install that version.
