Windows setup starts every time i try to launch a program

    Hi,
    i have recently bought a dell inspiron and it is running vista home premium. well the problem is that when ever I try to launch a program windows installer pops up and says that it is configuring that program. It then makes me wait until it is done before i can use that program. some programs that i experience this problem from are iTunes and Microsoft office 2007. any help about fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.
